Emmett var en sån som gillade att campa, tälta & vandra. En dag när Emmett var ute stötte han på en björn. Björnen atteckerade Emmett och han fick svåra skador. Rosalie hittade honom blödande. Hon tyckte att han likande hennes bästa väns bäbis. Så hon bar honom till Carlisle och bad honom att förvandla han. Emmett älskade Rosalie från första ögonblicket. Han gör allt för henne. Men han skulle vilja ge henne barn men det går inte för att vampyrer kan ej få barn. Så det blir säkert adoptering.

Emmett accepterar Bella för den hon är. I fjärde boken kallar han henne för littel sis.

Emmett har varit en vampyr sedan 1935. Och hans "ålder" är 20 år.
